To Whom it May Concern:
Just west of Denver, Colorado, the Hayman Fire burned 137,000 acres in the summer of 2002. As part of the Hayman Fire Rehabilitation effort, BAER team identified approximately 1500 acres of severely burned land that would benefit from aerial hydromulching.
The contract was awarded to Wildlands Inc., which functioned as a partnership between Wildlands Inc.(represented by Bill Mast), Pacific Erosion Control Systems Ltd. (represented by John Dawson), Sun West Helicopters (represented by Brian Sallows) and Hydrograss Technologies.
From August 14th, 2002 to September 15, 2002, the partnership completed aerial hydromulching on 1593 acres. Each partner contributed to the successful implementation of this project.
Mr. John Dawson provided the logistical expertise needed for this project (Hayman Fire). He not only prepared the contract proposal, but also coordinated all staging area activity including product acquisition and sequencing, training, supervising labor crews and providing most of the needed equipment. Mr. Dawson has developed a relatively compact mixing system that minimizes the amount of ground disturbance. As a consequence of his well though-out plan of operation, ground support was not responsible for any downtime for the duration of the project. Mr. Dawson obviously has many years of experience and the ability to make complex projects work well.
I was very pleased with the product that we received and the expertise and professionalism of Mr. Dawson. I would highly recommend his company for future reclamation work.
If you have any additional questions, I would be pleased to address them. I can be reached at 303-275-5625.
Sincerely,
Denny Bohon
